Splitting Images

For centuries, marking time
Waiting for your return
All the while you’ve been here
Just beyond a heavy curtain

You must have marveled
Whether I would take this leap
Denying change for so long
Yours is a patient soul

Velvet drapes the leaded panes
Snow storm blankets the day
You emerge taking my breath
Swiftly sweeping me into you

Abandoning my usual control
Submitting to your strength
Letting shame go, shyness fade
Delighting you builds my desire

Lover’s limber limbs intertwine
Where are yours, where ends mine?
As bones and flesh intermesh
Gateway, an unfolding mystery

Soul in soul, many souls before
I know this heart, this kiss bliss
We’ll soar to the fiery cosmos
Guided by our compass star

Nothing separating us
Only a transitory demise
Until patterns repeat again
My snowflake twin

Never has snow been so passionate for me. Thank you.
