Compromise CHANGE, dogs the ageing years. That insidiously appears. Crows feet show near eyes of blue, Non belief, the mirrored view. DISBELIEF, plays a pawn. In what has come and gone. Time works upon your firm No matter how you squirm. UNBELIEF, plays overtone, Strikes atop your funny bone. Effect works on transform and Slowly does the mind conform. AND insane laughter bubbles out When you confess the true of doubt. And sometimes it will bring up fear, But more often, only a tear. YET blessed are the aged of year, The treasures and the wisdom here. |

You know, Sy, maybe I'm just sentimental tonight but those last two line stuck a heart chord with me. I having no living grandparents, am appalled by the way society casts off the elderly, when as you say: YET blessed are the aged of year, The treasures and the wisdom here. Wonderful poem, Sy. Indeed, Wisdom of the Ages. Michael [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 10-29-1999).] |

Watcher, Appreciate the read and comment. Skyfyre, And a hearty thanks to you for the read. Denise, If you can relate to this you have my empathy and love. The first thing is to destroy all the mirrors. hehehe. Pepper, Thanks for the kind words read my answer to Denise and do the same thing, *L* Corinne, Thanks for the nicely done, again I say destroy the mirrors. Michael, I'll let you keep your mirrors for a while for you seem to have the wisdom of the old with non of the frailty and the heart of a gladiator. Thank you for the kind words. |

I'll keep the mirrors I'll keep the years I'll face my fears, I'll shed my tears, and do all for want of wisdom. Thanks for a wonderful read, Sy! |
