Gestures do not the poet make Nor response the welcome word The mind may play trick And the eyes see visions But the heart will know the truth See with the mind Speak with the heart And listen with the soul There will be no conflict No meditation reaches above the heart But deep within the soul And there is nothing as erotic as the naked heart We dream our dreams And have our fantasies But few are ever realized Love found my heart in the flower of youth Sowed its seed deep within a yielding heart And still that seed grows fair and strong Childhood for me held much pain With mother's love from me restrained father's lavish affection thwarted by mother's jealous hate But love did flower in my garden At 15 I learned passion's lessons And that peaceful love my heart knows still Passion burns even the coldest of hearts to burn Simplicity to soothe the turmoil For to give love one must first Know and love oneself Then love so forthright and true will be yours ------------------ Sharon Lee Rotondi (Enotneicna) http://members.rosenet.net/wtw/ |
