Ok this is the first sestina iv'e written, I probably did it wrong and it probably sucks but here it is anyway. I'm lonely in my love I'm joyous in my hate I'm drowning in my despair I can feel through my pain I can make myself numb I'm perfect in my apathy I'm looking for my apathy I think I lost it in my love Where's that pill that makes me numb? I think it was stolen by my hate I feel too much in my pain I sink deeper in my despair I'm giving in to despair I gave up on my apathy He's the one who nurses the pain Regardless, he is the one I love But eternally, I still hate The world that won't let me be numb I pray at night to again be numb So I cannot feel the despair I'll always have my hate But he ate away my apathy And he swallowed it in his love He claims to feel my pain The jagged hurt, the piercing pain I've lost all hope of being numb Yet through it all, I still love And that lets me float upon this sea of despair Sometimes I miss the apathy And I owe all this to my hate Turpentine kisses I bestow on my hate It helped me through the pain I'll always covet my apathy I'll always remeber the beauty of numb But you have drained my sea of despair However can I thank you, my love?
