The sun was going down on the warm Aruban sand... I walked down to the beach & took the ocean by the hand. Swimming through my head was all the chaos in my life - I threw my troubles out to sea - my many tears and strife... I closed my eyes to feel the winds blow salty through my hair... Around me was a peaceful calm - God's beauty everywhere. Warm sand under my feet & the soft foam from the tide - On this happy island free - I didn't have to hide... I stopped & turned my ear - to the sound of water's deep... The gentle crashing of the waves, nearly made me weep. Out here with turquoise waters - is where I want to stay - My soul's at peace when I'm alone with seagulls in this way... They cried a song of lonliness - for me as I passed by... I listened to their voices & I wished that I could fly. With hands deep in my pockets, I strolled along the sand - Off in the distance, softly played, a sweet Cabana band.... Their music filled the air, & again I closed my eyes... I sat down for awhile, with my face toward the skies. The moon upon the ocean, & Aruban stars above - I chose the brightest one I saw - & made a wish for love... Before I left the island & before I met my plane... I left my troubles there, like old baggage left unclaimed. That night - I built a castle - to symbolize my soul - I walked away & left it there - - Aruba made me whole........ *** I wonder how long it took the tide to wash my soul away....??? ------------------ ~~ Lift your head high - spread your "words" and fly - - poetFemmeFatale |

You paint me a beautiful image of Aruba...and why that place means so much to you. I can't wait to visit Aruba with you in person one day...where we can be whole - together. ------------------ Michael Anderson Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream? |

Good grief!!! This is fantastic! This was so well done gal.....!!! (But watch out for that Michael guy hon, he sounds like he's wanting to take advantage of the mood Aruba puts you in)....Now then, yanno Toerag would never do something like that. So? Ya wanna "tip-Toe" down the beach ta-gether?...Sun bathe in the sand ta-gether....? Or just stay in the motel room, and stay "connected' tagether?....This honestly was a superb poem my dear!!! |

*** Blushing - thanks Sey, and everyone else! I thought for awhile this was gonna be a flop of a poem...I had a hard time bringing it together like I wanted to .....your words have encouraged me a bit.....and dear Sey...you did make me blush...You know, I was so "at peace" there, I considered moving there for awhile. There's no place like it - spent sunsets on Catalina sailboats...peaceful walks on the beach at night...a wonderful place to go when you need to just think about your life...thank you. ------------------ ~~ Lift your head high - spread your "words" and fly - - poetFemmeFatale |
