High in the sky Spinning round and round The odds are even When it hits the ground Heads you win Tails you lose The rules are simple You just have to choose Now nobody picked Double ought green So when it landed on edge It caused quite a scene With no victor declared No one knew what to do Some one cried "Call it a draw" They just flipped it anew |

This poem had really good metering in it! Very unique, you're probably the only person who's ever written a poem about a coin toss. And yet I feel it's much deeper than that, because refering to a toss of a coin can apply to so many things in life today. Everything's a 50/50 chance. Wonderfully written. I wish I could write about happy things. ------------------ Luke Cakalic |

This poem is a great lesson for those who complain that there's nothing to write about. Very innovative and well done. |

Balladeer: Thanks for coming by. Oddly enough the thought for this one came to me while I was taking a shower. Don't ask why because I havn't a clue. invertigo18: My thanks to you as well. Personally I feel very few things are 50/50. A coin toss, given an unbiased coin, yes. But otherwise, I believe most situations are weighed in favor of one side or the other. Even a good relationship is 60/40. Sometimes I'm at 40%. If my wifes at 60%, everythings OK. And vis-a-versa. 50/50 is good! 40/40 is bad... that's when we stay away from each other. But 60/60!...That's when we make the most beautiful of music. Thanks again, I'm glad you enjoyed it. |

Thank God, No! I'll admit, my first major in college was math, but I decided I didn't want to be a bean counter or a teacher. I also went through a stage where I focused on biology, then history, and finally ended in mass communication. Now-a-days I work for a university public radio station; and yes, I still play with numbers. |
