Shutting Out The Light |

A fierceness unmatched, the shades drawn tight I turn my back swiftly, shutting out the light. Happiness and laughter a thing of the past, Visions of sorrow and self-doubt are cast. Embraced by darkness, I just want to leave... The life that has hurt me more than you can conceive. But such a journey requires strength and courage... Qualities which I no longer possess, but rather discourage. Many faces are presented throughout the day... Smiles often forced, while my eyes tell the truth I want to say. Crying inside, unable to express why... But silence falls to silence, no one willing to try. Too scared to give up, too scared to go on, I stand in the middle and try to be strong. So crouched in the corner, down on my knees... I hope one day for this pain to be relieved. |

I love your rendition of a life so bitter that it's not even worth ending it. Very inspiring. ------------------ Patience is a virtue, but virtue has never been one of my redeeming qualities. |
