I could whisper one thousand prayers
I could search lost shadows of souls
I could join a symphony and love all the music in it,
but I could never find another friend like you...

When you leave this sordid place,
life will go on, I know.
But my tears will fall, my heart will rust,
it's beat will slow.

I will fall asleep at night thinking of you, of the memories we've made, the laughs we've shared, and all the sad times too.
I don't want you to leave me, though selfish I cannot be.
I want you to go after your dreams; go out on your own, though you'll be
taking part of me.

Please don't let the distance separate us.
Phone me with every bit of news.
Tell me about your hair-cut or your brand new pair of shoes.
And I want letters with the details, and
photographs as well.
There's much time before you leave, I know,
but I felt I had to tell...

You see, time passes us so quickly.
And I just wanted you to know
that I won't take the time we have for granted-

Like Fred, I agree that this has a lot of passion in it. I even wish someone would do that for me. It's great!
