Tears fill my eyes
My soul cries
For my love
Who is lost to me
For a long time ago
When are hearts were happy and free
And we were as one.
But now that time is done.
The years they ebb and flow
Bringing changes.
The one thing that is constant
And will never go
Is that which lives
in the secret recesses of my heart.
The joyful memories, the pain
The void that can never be
Filled by anyone,other than he.
My scarred soul yearns for its mate.
Ripped away by the cruel hand of fate.
Now the present calls to me.
Time to put away
that which can never again be.
Dry the tears
After all, it's been years.
Then why does that
which is only a memory
Seem such vivid reality.

"....to have love and lost.." Still, it just plain hurts!
