Me Without You,Again©1998 Genea Parker You’d think I’d be used to it, watching as you walk away. Knowing you have to go, hoping you’ll be back one day. But each time it happens, a part of me goes too. No matter how far you go, my heart is always with you. You told me not to cry, so I smiled and said ok. But when you turned your back, I wiped my tears away. The parking lot was empty, when I got into my car. I headed straight for home, but didn’t get very far. As your plane flew overhead, tears streamed down my face. I knew no other person on earth, could ever take your place. I sat by the side of the road crying, my heart breaking in two. Will I ever get used to this, get used to me without you? It’s me without you again, like it’s been before. It’s we with only one again, a play with no encore. Trying to keep focused on life’s open doors. Even though it’s me again, without you like before. |

How very sad genea. If this was from personal experience I hope you have found someone worthy of your devotion who won't break your heart. Thank you for sharing this poem with me... |

I totally relate. My husbands job causes him to travel, and this is how I often feel. Wonderful job of expressing emotions. Thank goodness, he always comes home! ------------------ For sometimes when the Darkness falls, we must surrender, take what is ours, and give what we can, and always remember love is somewhere waiting... |

Actually when i wrote this....i was thinking more that the person who left on the plane was married, and the poem's speaker was left alone again...since he went back to his family. Once again, she is left with nothing but memories. thanks for reading AZ and Elvira |
