Look at you atop your steed of steel... An ogly ol' thang with dirty wheels... A rippled black tank with a busted blue stripe... And a frame so old, it moans, snivels, and gripes.... A king/queen seat that's seen much better days... A speedo and tach read through a filmy haze.. The chain is greasy and sloppy, in need of repair... The brakes work okay, but they're suckin' in air.. Tranny clatters and pops and makes rude little sounds... Crankcase needs oil, the valves prob'ly need ground.. The clutch is too loose, the shifter too tight.. And you know all this when you wheel her in for the night.... You work all day long to make that Sporty look good... Just as your most vivd dreams said that you would... Soon you can look at ol' Elvira with pride..... And then trade the ol' bitch in for a pretty wide glide. This was first written in 1990 when my husband bought his first Harley. ------------------ Words lay dormant in the recesses of the mind til called forth to a labor of love. By WildChild |

LOL! At first I thought it was going to be about betrayal, but this made me smile. What did your husband think? ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |

Thanx Elizabeth and Caroline. As for what my husband thought, he thought it was great especially since when I wrote this he was surrounded in his garage by m.c. parts ------------------ Words lay dormant in the recesses of the mind til called forth to a labor of love. By WildChild |
