You came back after my heart forgot. You came back to remind it how it feels to want. Here I sit, an ache in my chest, tears hide behind my eyes. my pride just won't let you see the fears inside, the tears I've cried. My mind screams "I can't let you in!" My heart cries, "I never had you out!" I wish you'd stayed away and let me pretend I didn't care. Pretend I don't love you. Now, my aching heart is an angry reminder of love... unreturned, unknown, unwanted. |
