With tattered clothes
and vacant
eyes
he sat alone
amid the pigeons
in the
park.
Furrowed brow
and greying beard;
down his cheek a
tear.
A child approached
and
with the inquisitiveness
of youth,
asked,
"Why?"
He got up
and
walked
away.

Tim,
That was a good question.
I would ask the same.

I think I understood this one...sometimes it is easier to live with ourselves if we don't have to explain ourselves too anyone. When faced with questions we can't answer, sometimes it is easier to just walk away than to face the simple truth. Am I close??

Leave us hanging now...I thought this was kinda sad. I think sometimes if open up and not walk away it may help us! You have left a good question. Lots of things to go through one's mind. Definitely a thinker!

Not trying to be obtuse...
but sometimes there is no answer... sometimes no question...
sometimes things just are and what we read into them is a reflection of ourselves...
I happen to see isolation... but that was not the point... the point is it doesn't answer... that is for the reader to do....

Ah, very good, Tim! I see constant futility in the man (who wants to answer any more darn questions!?!) and as we all know, a youth will continue to ask "Why?", even when all of the answers have been given.

Well done, sir!

...though you aren't being obtuse, Tim - Life certainly is just that, isn't it??

Oh how fascinating - how you took a brief moment, and created a vividly sad story....and left us to cry for him...and wonder.
