I'm posting this at the request of a friend. He's a bit too shy to post it himself, but gave me permission to do so. If opinions are strong enough over the poem, I might be able to talk him into becoming a member here. So without further ado... Angel Too poor a wordsmith to shape something infinite upon an anvil. But the Dreamer has awakened, demanding dreams be forged and stabbed into the sky. I close my eyes, fade, shimmering, into endless beginnings of what might be. Reaching out through the dark spaces between souls, to feel the sudden lightning flash of your fingers meeting mine. Hearing your voice of dust-flecked sunlight in a secret forest glen, soothing wounds so deep they have scars of their own. Emptying my soul into your laughing/crying/wondrous eyes, into the searing fierceness of you, knowing you will fill the hollow ache left behind. Hands too thick and crude for subtler deeds smash frozen mountains flat to help you see the summerlands beyond. For how wondrous a thing that a giant can be shown less clumsy than he thought himself. How terrible a thing than an angel be blinded by cruelty, and lose sight of her wings that have already lifted one with so heavy a heart. |

Such lovely imagery! It would be a sin for your friend not to share more of his poetry with us! Tell me who he is! Give me his e-mail address and I'll send him a smack upside the head! Seriously, this is excellent! I await his entrance to the forums. |

Your friend has an abundance of talent and would be a very welcome addition, indeed. ------------------ Well, write poetry, for God's sake, it's the only thing that matters. ---Edward Estlin Cummings |

Thank you, everyone. I'll be sure to let him know what you've said, that you like his poetry as much as I do. Shouldn't be long before he's joined up, and gets to see how spiffy this place is. |
