Words of the Great

Those words have been said by those that are dead,
that bring them a new kind of living.
Sonnets stay in hearts
and rosy lips part.
The meaning of love is then giving.

Shakespeare, Baudelaire, though not quite a pair,
Both did journey their ways to my soul.
One leaves me speechless,
the other breathless,
and to write such as them is my goal.

Need not I say more of poets galore,
for methinks that you do understand.
Words live on and on
in the hearts that are strong,
in the indifferent and in the damned.

Their words on-living,
and always giving,
Great writers before our modern times,
live on inside us
to make love strong, thus,
They show of themselves inside our rhymes.

Well now, I didn't think you could sleep without writing another.

This is an amazing tribute, dearheart. As I said, writer's block be damned.
