(I wish I could say my vacation was productive in the poetry sense and although I did much thinking, I only wrote 3 poems the entire time I was gone and I can't even say they are very good...of course I am my worst critic so here goes one)

Goodbye

Don’t let my heart hear that word,
fall softly from your lips,
and do not let it give rise
when you are near.
Don’t let my ears feel that word
flogged off your tongue
in sharp syllables;
each letter like the crack of a whip.
Don’t let your eyes say truths
that I don’t wish revealed;
nor my eyes betray me with their tears.
For one brief moment,
I began to believe in dreams once more...
then watched as they shattered
to the ground
with just one simple word.

You are wrong about this one. I think it is excellent work and heartfelt sentiment. Once again you have done well.
