A life began that never died.
In the hearts of many, he has survived.
His birth is known throughout the land,
The birth of this child, not fathered by man.
His grace, his wisdom, those he has blessed,
The child of Mary,
Fathered by God's breath.

Whether believer or not, tis the season for giving,
To your friends and family, the reason for living.
Give thanks to your God, give love to your neighbor,
Savor their love now, for there may be "no later."

If I could make only one Holiday wish,
It would be for a hug from my father,
And my mother's sweet kiss,
For gifts have no value, I want none for myself,
But your friends and your family,
Is where you find wealth.

Toerag, wow, a deep down in the soul poem that speaks such truth. I loved it. To think I thought you were only a funny guy, your talent rings through at this level to.

Lost Dreamer...thanx...I wrote that last year....posted it on another board 'round Christmas time...I seem to lose my humor and replace it with sadness during the Holidays....just miss my folks and long gone friends at those times....but soon afterwards, the devil does take back over....LOL

Toerag: Repeated readings only make this poem dearer to my heart. I wish sadness never darkened your days... but the wisdom your grief gives you is advice we all should heed! Beautiful, dear friend!

Don't your dare stop writing serious pieces. This was beautiful..(even though you rascals INSIST on getting me ready for Christmas too soon....hmmmm there's a lesson in there somewhere.)
You're a man with many sides..and I for one like it that way.

Toerag: Don't ever stop writing poems like this, sweetie.... So many times, I have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at your poems.... this one brings tears, too, but they're tears of gratitude for having you in my life and tears of remorse that I don't stop often enough to appreciate what I have. I need those stop signs as I race through the day.... and I enjoy your multi-dimensional talent!

Gotten into the christmas spirit yet, Toerag? Thank you for joining me! You were talking about family here, so do you have a brother or sister? Imagine the fun and horror if one of your siblings decided to join us on this discussion board!

Christmas is a time for family, friends, warmth, memories, and missing those who gave those moments in the past.  I am sometimes sad, too, at Christmas because of those not here now who once filled my heart with light, but a new heritage rises and new blessings along with it.  I know you nourish those new seeds planted in your heart as well.

This is a poem to cherish!     ~KL

Behind all of the bluster and comedy (and insulting poor Balladeer), THIS is the real Toerag. No finer man exists....

You sure have that right Michael!  I miss his antics, but I also miss his serious side, where his heart of gold tends to blind you!

Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year Toe, and I sure think of you often with caring thoughts.
