A Rose Without Thorns

Where there is room
in ones heart
for happiness,
there is room
to plant
some new roots.

A plant
to mysteriously
grow into
a life long friend.
To act like a weed
starving off
all the sadness,
and frustration
in one's life.

Blossoms emitting
fragrance
of peace, and harmony,
to cherish
every waking day.

The plant
you've given me
is like a rose
without thorns.
Forever beautiful,
and always there.

A lovely poem, with a great metaphor. This expresses precisely how I feel about my best friend.

I'm afraid there is no such thing as a rose without thorns, just as there is no such thing as perfect friendship. But it is a lovely poem, nevertheless.
