He stepped through the door and stared at the empty room he had known what to expect no one lived here anymore still, he found it strange not to hear her cry out his name or the sound of little feet running and her voice reciting strings of sentences he could barely understand every direction he looked led him to a memory long suppessed images he could now see he recalled reading her books again and again and listening to her tell him of new found friends he remembered her cries of pain and her tears of joy her neverending study of all new things he felt tears gather in his eyes he knew this pain he could never hide he walked around the room looking perhaps, for her ghost and instead found the emptiness he feared most soon overwhelmed he knew he must leave but he just stood there listening to the sounds of misery |
