Without Your Love

Can I survive day to day
without your love to pave the way?
Just waking each morning is hard to do
And wondering if you have the same problem, too.
It's getting harder as I try not to think
if I made the right choice to swim or sink.
Life's not the same as it was before
you took my heart, and yours I tore.
You didn't even give me a reason to doubt
Now because of impatience we both missed out.
And I can't help but wonder what could have been
of our undying love, what it could have meant.
Guess we'll both never know, you took the coward's way out
By not saying a word, just left with a pout.
I'm the one who's left with an empty place you left
While you're going on, new women you've probably met.
I hope when you look at them, deep and thoroughly through
you see some of what was me, what you always knew
I honestly loved you from the very start
It was hopefully for the best that we decided to part.
But please come back, briefly, just please return my heart.

well written. I'm impressed. I can relate though, not too long ago I broke up with my gf of 3 yrs. It sucks for a long time, and I don't think the pain ever goes away entirely. But you alwayz come out a little better in the end. Just think of the good stuff, and remember him for the person you loved.

great poem!!! I know what it feels like.. Just recently me and my brother broke up, but he did it just the way you describe, by not saying anything and taking my heart with him... Keep up the great talent you have within you.
