I just wrote this in the last five minutes. Don't know why I felt the burning urge to write this one. I admire poets who can let their souls sing about their life - thus a healing begins. Then I wondered about the others..those that keep the silence of their soul: I’ll not let you know the inside of me you’ll get none of that in my poetry the curses, the slaps, pulling of hair you’ll get not a word of that in there I’ll tell you a tale of a maiden of old a knight, a knave, a king so bold I’ll weave a story so fantastic and rare you’ll never know if I was there My soul is locked in silent supplication not open for any reader’s edification go somewhere else for a confessional song you won’t read mine here in this poet’s throng |

Well now Ms. De, I think it was Mr. Whitman, who said: There is no trick or cunning, no art or recipe, by which you can have in your writing what you do not possess in yourself. And so, I see through you. |

Good GAWD woman! Five minutes?? One day, if I'm very lucky...I'll have the talent you possess in just your little finger. Well done! I always enjoy reading your work. ------------------ "Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with." *Mark Twain* |

Ah, pen (may I call you so?) I have a wily mind you see, not all my poems are about me! I've written many of other things, frogs, fair maidens and bumblebee stings! If all that I say in my poetry is not of anyone else but me then this one thing you will surely see I must be a split personality! |

Well said, Pen! No matter how you try to mask it..a piece of yourself is embedded between the lines. I feel very strongly about that. (Which scares me to death when I think about Steven King..LOL) Seriously, you can't deny you give a glimpse of yourself in your writing..can you Poet? |

If I can call you De, surely you can call me Pen. Five minutes, huh? Gosh, you know you got to give me some lessons. Now who said, "when the student is ready, the teacher appears?" Hey De, Pen is ready. |

And Sally speaking of Mr. King, what about this Dream Evil guy? He writes some pretty scary stuff. And I don't think he likes women. |

Split personalities are a wonderful thing (speaking from experience) (me too!)Think about it this way, it's twice the fun! As to the five minutes, I venture a guess, that you have been blessed, with gift so fine and rare, That you think in rhyme, most anytime, anyplace and anywhere! ------------------ ...the things I did not know at first, I learned by doing twice. -Billy Joel |

Thank you for you comments.......hmmmm. Ok, maybe it's a little bit of me in that poem. But now I'm scared, remember I wrote the poem about that huge zit - is that me? And what about my erotic poetry on the Adult Forum - that's definitely NOT me! Pen, you may either e-mail me or catch me on ICQ and I'll teach you all I know - should take about 3 minutes! |

oh my deVine, you're turning into quite a sinner having a newcomer for breakfast, lunch, or dinner? ...naughty, naughty i guess poetry can serve a lovely escape from the present's drudgery for some...i can go either way, but not the way femme's comment read in the adult forum |

I like this - wish I had more imagination to write poetry about knights and maidens and days of old. But, I don't. Just wish I did. A |
