Purgatorial Incarceration

Gradual revelations of the dawn,
accusing skyward heavens.
Brooding promises.
Lies,
Untruth-
A shroud of gloom.
Running...
Like rapid thunder-
through a vertigo of perception
-teetering on the brink.
Plunge under deep...
waters of darkness
mysteries-
a sea... of chaotic rumblings
scream-
noiseless ululation
-inaudible shriek.
Still heard - or felt.
Visceral prophetic murmurings.
Death's peril,
-rears its evil head.
Surface.
To escape.
To survive.
The heavy pondering...
-of the damned.

...the things I did not know at first, I learned by doing twice.
-Billy Joel

I like the way you use words in this one, but the format through me off a little. But hey! Who am I to judge - I can't write free verse to save my soul!

I agree with deVine, what a vocabulary you have! So colorful, I had to dust off my dictionary to look up half of 'em ! (wink) But oh the power in this piece!! I'm quickly becoming a fan of your work!

Hmmm, maybe I didn't get the point across as well as I wanted. It was meant to be "jerky" like jumping from one "scene" to another. Oh well, I popped this off while I was visiting the senator last night, so maybe that isn't the best place to do my thinking.

(and don't say that ms. D, I love your poetry and only wish I could do half as well, including your prose!)
(thank you pff, don't worry, I don't know what it means either, it was written by the left side of my brain without the consent of my right!)

Well that's Okay....(feeling sorry for you) I don't even have a brain, so nothing consults with nothing.....how'd you like to be ME? ( sigh )
