"Hello! Thanks for calling Sears!
Please do as you are told,
Your call's important to us
And we're placing you on hold.

Make ready your account number,
Make sure it is correct..
It's thirty some odd numbers,
Mis-type, we will reject.

We'll lead you through the small routine,
Please use your touch type phone,
Press nine and follow with the "star"
After you hear the tone.

If you're a new customer,
Press two..if old, press three.
Press four in case you have complaints,
Then hold on won't you please?

You have pressed four, please wait a minute
While I transfer you..
And please enjoy, while we play
A symphony or two.

Our operators are all busy now
Thanks for being patient,
Your call is important to us
We'll be with you in a minute"

As I hold and must endure,
This music with no tune,
My cheek is numb as is my ear
I hope they answer soon!

But suddenly, there may be hope!
I hear a different sound,
At last a human voice I hear
After all this run-around.

"Good morning, Ladies underwear
May I help you somehow?
Complaints?..Just hang on a "sec"
I'll transfer you right now.."

Before I could say another word,
It's back on "Hold" for me,
No chance to say a single thing,
Then the phone began to ring.

"Good morning! Thanks for calling Sears.
Please do as you are told,
Your call's important to us,
And will place you now on hold."

Indeed this one could not be more true. Amusing but it made me angry since I know it will be far to soon when I have to deal with something like this again.

Nice job.

You could also substitute one of the following for Sears....electric company, phone company, cable company...the list goes on! Will keep this handy for the next time I'm on hold. Thanks!

Toe, you are a talented man. That's one of the reasons I enjoy thrashing you so much! But not on this one. I would have loved to have written it! Great job, worthy adversary.
