I deluded myself by feeling,
That you couldn't help but stealing.
You didn't tell me you were going.
Would it have helped me by knowing?

The thief doesn't stick around,
To see the victim hit the ground.
If there's no one for my love to give,
I don't think that I want to live.

You had me not expecting at all,
That you were leading me to a fall.
And now that, though, I am alone,
There is one thing I should have known.

I don't know what you can call it,
All women know what's in my wallet.
And if for one second it is bare,
There ain't no women anywhere!

Don't take it hard. It's not your fault
That you're a victim of assault.
Some women are just made that way..
Take what you got and run away.

Keep your heart open. You will find
The other ones that treat you kind.
True love is what the poets call it..
Got nothin' to do with what's in your wallet.

Walt... great poem! Though I disagree... not all women want what's in your wallet... hehehe
