When you gift poetry you've written, You gift a protion of yourself. Your deepest thoughts, Your deepest soul. When you gift poetry you've written, You open up your heart wide. To be seen and read, Heard and known. When you gift poetry you've written, You entrust and bare all. And some would abuse this trust, So..... When you gift poetry you've written, You need to have a care. Of to whom you would, Show your naked soul. I find this to be so true....I was once told by a friend who went to my web page for the very first time and read my poetry that he felt like a voyeur, that all of me was exposed there so clearly...at first that thought frightened me, now I feel that it frees me to be who I am. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |
