I'm just a child who walked along the way In the dark and vile night my youth just slipped away Shadow called depression, a dark and dingy gray Attacked by cultures expectations I fight for life to stay I saw a life force glowing bright I watched it wash away No place to find refuge, a spark of brighter day's No longer do I hold them, I know not where they stay Listening to the verdict who's web I now shall weave Till dusk shall be departed and life no longer free I am just a child who walked along the way If you see my footsteps walk over where they lay Find your path to walk in, and hope that you can stay In empty space I linger, I cling to have reprieve I am just a child who walked. |

you are very good!! Life is such an unexpected journey of ups and downs that it can sometimes seem out of control, but just around the corner there's always a gift for staying on the ride!! Thanks for the poem |

went to open forum one and this is still so true for.. so many. I think it involves more than just walking though, but also fighting. Enjoyed. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

Your poem reminded me of my life. It made me think of the innocence I still have. I loved it. Elie ![]() |
