Much of my time is spent dreaming Of a day the good will out weigh the bad. Of a time there's more happiness And i'll feel less sad. I know my true love And he knows of me, But what do you do When he's far from your reach? How do you live "just existing" With a person you know is so wrong? To put your life on hold for responsibilty While that man who is so perfect, you long. There must be a light at the end of this tunnel Although at this time it looks dark. I will continue on with my patience And allow myself one day to follow my heart. ------------------ Christelle S. |

Your poem poses an intriguing question, well stated. Unfortunately, when one goes on "just existing", they aren't. A small poem I wrote many years ago.... One of the worst things one can say Is "Well, another wasted day." Twenty four hours of your life are gone Your days are numbered - minus one. Twenty fours to live and feel. You smile and say, "Oh, no big deal." And what you say is very true, No big deal to anyone - that is, 'cept you. At the final bell, we're gonna die So please tell me the reason why We hasten that impending doom With burdens WE choose to assume. Yes, "Well, another wasted day" Is one of the worst things one can say, But another that is just as bad Is the simple phrase, "I wish I had......" |
