Listening to every heart

Miserable wasn’t the word she’d use
more like “your body is hereby refused”.
Oh she sorely wanted to pass on away
for the pain was unbearable, she’d say.

But no, doctors know better, and so
came the pills and liquids although
she wasn’t sure the pills didn’t make her sicker
for she wasn’t getting better any quicker.

And in her miseries and doldrums complete
she wondered in delirium as her heart pound
if she would leave life without a whimper, not make a sound
would anyone miss her around town?

Then, in her medicinal haze, a poem started up,
but she wondered as she gazed at her tea in a cup
where would I put this for anyone to critique?
Indeed life for her felt miserably bleak.

She barely could recall
That she had the gall
To write poetry before
and nail it on Passions door.

For a week had gone by and she couldn’t sit
at her computer and gaze at the wit
of Passion’s connoisseurs of writ;
and that bothered her quite a bit.

But now she’s back and ready to spout
words and poems and prose and shout
“Lookout world, Sunshine’s returned here”
And she’ll even take on Balladeer!

Sorry - I didn't know you were away - since I was pretty much out of con-net-ion myself...... Well, then... I hear grumblings of a challenge here...

"So, Let the Sunshine in...
Face it with a grin -
Smilers never lose,
And frowners never win...."

Thanks, Ohme, for the prompting and yes, I'm much better now...at least, back in the land of the living.

And Nan, I've missed you too...just didn't know it until I came back to the forum. Did wonder during deliriums whether or not I'd be missed overall...but with so many fantastic poets here, I sincerely doubt it! Ah, I must persevere! Thanks for the icon!
