Two people meet Face to face On the dance floor of life Once they were lovers Now just friends He bows She curtsey In the background a slow melodious tune starts to play Hand in hand Step by step They move in time with one another Round and round Accuracy and percision Doing the dance of the angels Enraptured Their eyes are locked Breathing rhythmically Desire to be with one another shows through and through You can hear her heels click lightly on the floor While his suit tails rumple in the breeze Their minds remembering the beat 123 123 Waltz He dips her graciously When the song finally comes to an end He’s in his bed She’s in hers Was it real? Dreams upon endless dreams of their chance to be together again for one last slow dance Love, Lady ------------------ Live in my world just once and you'll find yourself enraptured. WHEW! This is well written! They say that dancing is just the vertical application of a horizontal idea. Your poem proves that out very nicely. |
