In this world where the frantic pace Can drive someone insane, Where fears can turn us into dust, You're not one to complain. You're not the type to criticize. You're not the kind to take Advantage of another When he's made some small mistake. You're not the one to wear a frown When things don't work out right. You're not the one to go to sleep Without a hug goodnight. You're not the one to shy away When friendship comes to call. When troubles make your shoulders ache, You're not the one to fall. You're not the one to whimper at The end of your long day. You're not the one to fail to bow In silence as you pray. You are admired by many for The qualities you've got. The world loves you for what you are, But I - for what you're not. |

This sounds wonderfully familiar; how perfectly you've described what I was afraid to attempt. We seem to be two very lucky people I will definitely show this to my honey. Thank you, Balladeer. |

Ah, the kind of person we all strive to be, I think. Wonderfully done, Balladeer, as always. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* "Your kiss upon my face feels like a brush with grace, baby thats all it takes to take me higher..." SHeDaisy |

This is oh so true my dear Balladeer.Too many times people do not see ALL of people they care for.I love it ------------------ We see only what we want to see~unless perhaps~we believe *A rose is a rose it withers and dies...so long as you keep it the memories stay alive* |

Oh Balladeer...your words are music to anyones soul. I love what I read, and this is sure to make that someone specials every day. I could never put into words what you said...Well Done, and I loved it all! ------------------ For sometimes when the Darkness falls, we must surrender, take what is ours, and give what we can, and always remember love is somewhere waiting... |

Wow, what a sweet poem! 'Tis a lucky person that will receive it. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |

most poems extoll a person's virtures... clever to turn this around and praise the absence of negatives.... it's an effective way to remind us of how we should live each day. |

Very inspirational Balladeer and definitely clever with the double negation. I like your viewpoint and, of course, great rythm and rhyme. Well done! |
