I learned something from a friend
today,
she told me she had been raped.
At first I didn't know what
to say,
I just sat in place and gaped.

This Lady's man with a golden
tongue,
could think of nothing to say.
I could blow it off when I was
young,
not caring in any way.

I heard the words and was filled with
hate,
and rage towards my fellow man.
My comforting words had come too
late,
inside of herself she ran.

Though the last was just four years
ago,
still it makes my blood run cold.
She didn't mean to tell me you
know,
but it put my world on hold.

In youth I would have tracked and bound
him,
then dragged what was left to her.
His last sound as consciousness grew
dim,
would barely be a whisper.

Now I would rather hug and hold
her,
comforting her through the night.
While the thought of it is sheer
torture,
still my friend is my delight.

Anyone is who lucky enough to have you for a friend is one of the most blessed in all the world, Dream. You are the most Selfless person I know.

This was very sad in topic, yet very beautiful in your response to how as friend you would be.

You truly are selfless. One Voice and leelew express it much better than I can, but I agree with them whole-heartedly. You inspire us all, and you are a very dear friend.

At times victims blame themselves for the misfortune they suffer. Takes someone like a DreamEvil to persuade them they are not to blame.

Wonderful poem,

That is a wonderful topic.. It is a good thing that people have someone there for them during this horrible time.. Great piece DreamEvil.. Though the thought off taking out the person is wonderful the help that you give is always better..

Love,
Lady

What a horrible thing for someone to endure.
I did not expect it to be about this. It
kind of shocked me when I read the word rape.
I feel for your friend.

Felt the need to reply to this now. I've been both sides of the coin, the Dark is more appropriate for the guilty, the Light, for her.
