To whom it may concern I've given up the will to live To whom it may concern I gave all I had to give To whom it may concern My wounds are so precise To whom it may concern It was the best device To whom it may concern The words cut me like a knife To whom it may concern I gave everthing but my life To whom it may concern My heart has turned to stone To whom it may concern It hurts to be alone I wrote this for a friend who hurt me badly. |

Try turning a joke you know into a poem, it’s a good exercise to test your ability to turn a fixed subject into poetry ( it is harder to write if the poems content and end are so rigidly fixed ) and a joke is by definition designed to make people laugh so should come out a little more upbeat. |

Wow.....you could write about happier subjects yes......but probably not with the emotion this poem portrays. Sad, yes. Deep, yes. Wonderfyl, YES!!! This is a really good poem that says a great deal. |
