On noiseless feet, across the room he crept, As shadows danced on walls from taper's flame, He gazed upon her beauty as she slept As tenderly he whispered out her name. O' Nightingale, you touched within my heart And carried me to meadows in my mind, Do not you feel, the passions you impart Whilst in your arms, my soul you have entwined? Amongst the columbine in mountain lea, I feel within the song of nightingale, For I have danced love's sensual ballet, And on your wings, to ectasy did sail. O' Nightingale, time's come to let you fly, As I depart, and you wing to the sky. [This message has been edited by Mike (edited 07-30-99).] |

Excellent rhyme scheme and execution, Mike. Did you not rhyme the last two lines by design? I would be interested in your thoughts. |
