Misery Loves Company I've heard it been said, Humor's good for the soul, That's why I "go there" instead. Being serious brings memories, Of my unbelievable past, It's a nice place to visit, But I leave there quite fast. Do you think of your errors? Do you dwell on them long? Wish ya could live your life over? Do right-what ya did wrong? My serious side hides-amongst silly play, It comes out very rarely, as it did today. You all seem to have that talent so rare, To put into words, the thoughts you share. Some use humor or passion and such, To hit the funnybone...or the hearts that you touch. I love to write poetry; Some's good and some's bad, But what would ya expect, From a guy named Toerag? "To be poetic is to bare one's soul, to show all of the holes and patches and laughter..go ahead and step in it...give it a kick and a "Ha-ha".....It'll make ya tough!" |

A serious poem from a seriuos guy (well, almost serious). I know from whence you come, Toe, and I know that, while you were there, you were heading this direction as fast as you could. I'm glad you made it here. |

While you're avoiding your memories You're giving us smiles You could share your miseries But instead, all the while Sadness and sorrow furrow your brow You're giving cheer to those you don't know And maligning your talent In hopes your heart doesn't show. Serious or silly, when I see your "tag" I know I'll find excellence from the poet Toerag. |
