If the nights depression had its way Only dark and dreary things to say I hold my baby across my chest And find anew that I am blessed Careful the boy not wake from slumber I beg my wife to disencumber A mothers care and loving embrace Would mean a father had no place? Meddlers might voice I have no care And wonder what I’m doing there In the dead of night this cynic grins And wipes the dribble from baby’s chin [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 07-30-99).] |

I've been there walt. It really is a pleasure to see your work. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

I just had my first baby, boy, June 21st and funny..(not in the way you expressed) but my baby's father feels the same way. Great poem I like the way you expressed what a great feeling it is to be a father. [This message has been edited by Crystal (edited 07-30-99).] |

Good one! It's amazing what a child will do to us and for us! It's a different world through their eyes and God gives us a chance to relive our own childhood through them. I'm sure your son loves his daddy..hold him tight...love him without exception. |
