THE LASS ALONE© 1990 by Genea Parker The lovely lass pines no more; she doesn’t await a rap on the door. Her lad is gone and won’t return. In all this time, they’ve both learned. Bad memories are gone, memories are good. As they’ve grown, they’ve understood. Their lives traveled along separate roads as pals, not spouses, as friends, not foes. She wishes him well in al he does, and likes to remember him just the way he was – When she last saw him at dinner that night, when he smiled at her before their big fight. “It’s for the best” the lass declares; she sits at her mirror, brushing her hair. “With my wit and grace, another I’ll meet!” She hopes for another lad who’s so neat. ================================ ------------------ Thanks for taking the time to read.
