Laughing, crying, smiling and frowning,
Emotions that dictate our thoughts-
They come from within, even when clowning,
And that's what life's all about.

We face each day not knowing it's content,
With hopes it will be better than last,
But each new day brings something quite different,
And they all fly by us so fast.

Treasure each day, your family and friends,
Take little for granted because;
It may be your last, or for the one's that you meet,
Life works that way...yes it does.

Hug your kids, your friends-your pets,
Do this day after day.
So when the time comes, you'll have no regrets,
Do this now, don't delay.

Time is short, you never know when,
You'll be able to see these people again,
The saddest thing when one of them dies,
It's seldom you have the chance for good-byes.

How true this is I lost my father over 20
years ago. And I was only allowed to say
goodbye in my dreams.

Thank you for posting this. It is good advice for sure. Specially the part about hugging your kids......this would indeed be a better place if we hugged our kids more.

Words of great wisdom, Toerag. Now, if I can just talk my dog into letting me hug him.......

I'm hip to that. Kisses and hugs when I leave... same when I come home. Doesn't matter if I'm off to work, to the store, or just down the street. You just never know when it will be your last. Here's hopping it ain't for a long, long time.

Oh,Toe~
I was archiving and found this ...
realized just how poignant it is in view of the recent events ....
God ... one hopes we learn to make each moment count~

Thank you~

This is a very sobering poem...for me, at least. I really like the title...it definetly caught my attention. I really enjoyed reading this. Nice job!

A hundred years more wouldn't be enough... and a thousand goodbyes wouldn't make being without you easier.

GodSpeed...and don't have too much fun without me, okay?
