The fuel for anger is the final word, The added point that's sure to win. Invectives delivered for intended hurt, Sowing the seeds of our own chagrin. Bitter words from guileless tongue, Grim echoes of a saddened heart, They wither a spirit perpetually young, Denying us happiness ere it starts. Forgiving is hard, because we see In others the things we fear, If we were to look long and deep Inside when we look in the mirror. Release your feelings of discontent, Borne from another point of view. Though careless words made you incensed, Your life demands much more of you. A fine piece of work. I often find the need to ask myself this very question when it applies to my children and some of their wayward deeds. 99% of the time the anger just isn't worth it. |
