I watch the sun set as I stand here alone... I've chased away love - I'll survive on my own. The heartaches & problems I've had to withstand Aren't worth all the tears that I hold in my hand. Though love comes & love goes,I never could see... Why I always had to be lonely and free. I've tried to find one who would love me & be - Forever my lover...for eternity. I've chased after rainbows & wished upon stars... But somehow my heart has remained behind bars... The love that I've searched for just cannot be found - Instead, I've decided to just stand my ground. If ever the star that I wish upon falls... Or if ever my name in the still night he calls - I wonder, just wonder what will happen to me... Once again - will my hand hold a "Billowing Sea?"........ ------------------ - poet FemmeFatale "The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone..." Henrik Ibsen (1826-1906) Norwegian dramatist lyric poet |

This is an old favorite of mine, from WAY back in my younger year - slash it if you want, but give me your opinions nonetheless....You guys know you can be brutally honest with me - the worst I'll do is write a poem about you in the Adult Forum !! LOL ------------------ - poet FemmeFatale "The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone..." Henrik Ibsen (1826-1906) Norwegian dramatist lyric poet |

Femme, I liked it. As far as the Adult Forum goes, please don't include me in one of your poems...I don't think at this time in my abstinant situation that I could take the excitement..haha. |

With the beautiful song you sing, how is it that love cannot find you? Sing on, dear Poet, sing on. |

Pff dear, I used to stand by the ocean many a time, longing for love, yet running from it - how beautifuuly you have expressed this. I'm standing there with you! |

PFF, Youth does not look for truth. Nor does it weigh love. Lovely poem. |

Beautiful! Thank goodness so many folks are reaching back and bringing up treasures that many of us are seeing for the first time [there ARE only so many hours in the day, y'know?] Well done! ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

You asked for brutal honesty, so here it is: This is a beautiful poem, brave and sad. I love it. |
