The dying embers
of a fire that shone
so bright
I shiver in the
cold, dark light

Scared of the future
hurt by thepast
morning a life
that's turned into dust

Love was the light
that shone
so bright
it kept me warm
on the coldest of nights

Trying in vain to stoke
the embers
to revive once again
what me heart
dearly remembers...

To no avail
I loose the fight
thrown into the
cold, dark night

Frightened and alone

The past burning pictures
in my head
going over
what's been
thought and said

never again
will we be
one...
