Scolopendra heros
A centipede my good friend
A multi-legged little beast
Chills down your spine, he does send

They say he's got a hundred legs
Well it's just not true
And venom in every ped
Don't worry, it's just the front two

The darkness of the night
Is when he comes out to play
He's nocturnal my good friend
That's when he hunts for his prey

Insects are his chosen meal
So you have little to fear
Should one bite you good friend
Death would fail to come near

However, I shall warn you
For I have heard it said
That we eat eight bugs in a lifetime
While sleeping in bed

And there is one last thing
That I did fail to mention
They make dark holes their home
Like the one above your chin.

Awesome,
If one finds the hole above my chin
the emotion I exibit will not be a grin
away I will go to the looney bin.

Just go back from the weekend and thought I should say:

Thanks Ms DeVine for stopping by and the cool graphic. Sorry about the bug thing.

Lost Dreamer, I'm glad you found it and more so that you like it. I aim to please.

You know, I liked this poem at first, it was cute, but when I got to the bottom, I'm starting to feel a bit queasy !! Am I green? Bugs in my mouth? NO THANK YOU - you don't know where they've been!! I've had one before, and I swear, he tasted like ammonia!! Ack! Tooey! (spitting violently)

Well, imagine my surprise to find this little beast roaming the top. Thanks to you Ms. FemmeFatale for digging this one up. On a whole I find them pretty disgusting too… a taste of ammonia and a little acidic as well. Bon' appetite!

Pepper: Welcome to our halls. Thanks for coming by and leaving your mark, I'll seek to do the same. It is a lot of fun, isn't it?

Yo! Sir Balladeer… chocolate covered ants are doable, but unless I'm scheduled for some survival training with the 82nd Airborne I ain't eatin' no bugs no how. Summer camp and a mountain man guide who showed us how to eat lizards, ants, termites and grubs was enough to cure me of the desire for nature's purest protein. Now, cooked snake and raw fish are another matter!
