Beneath the canopy of beauteous oak
Seeds had fallen to earth and then awoke,
Four lives anew commenced on their journey
Within the ambit of protective tree.
Shielded by the majestic oak, saplings grew
Straight and tall, reaching out to heaven's blue,
Shielded from the blazing sun, summer's storm
And in the cold of winter were kept warm
By nurture of unseen force from above,
A force as strong and dear as mother's love.

Four trees are grown, have reached the heaven's blue,
With mother's love, how proud and tall they grew.

Hey Tim - I actually got here early this time...
You have crafted a very lovely extended metaphor here - I like it lots... Every mighty oak was indeed once a tiny acorn....Nice work, my friend

A young oak who along with her twin brother just graduated from high school saw a copy of the poem and said nice extended metaphor.
I politely replied, I knew that...(having read Nan's comment) I then politely asked, what is an extended metaphor? I actually wanted to name the twins Denise and DeNephew but got overruled. Balladeer... sorry, no Forest. Two sap brothers... and if they live on a ridge, it would be the ridge between the Hatfields and McCoys. Thank you all for the nice comments.
