I’m not the devil because I know I’m defeated
He is the ruler but he’ll soon be unseated
He gives me sin so I would choose the dark side
Tells me I’m worthless so I’ll never make stride

He is the master of wicked device
How to be so evil and come over nice
I will not worship false idols at his will
He makes me forget that I’m doing it still

I’m not the devil I could not get that tan
Although I am in the sun as much as I can
He prepares a place I can bathe in the fire
For all to see they’d think it was my desire

I fight the devil from this gravity well
He draws me farther down reaching to hell
To take this all lightly I just can’t afford
Heavy on my heart weighs Jesus my Lord

I’m not the devil though his work will inspire
Make boys lawyers and girls bodies for hire
He is the savior for all losing their fight
I feel a little tug taking me into the night
