Choose your weapon wisely For I'll grant no second chance In this moment of destruction How will it be, your warrior stance? Will you unsheathe your tongue To slash with rapier wit Or maim with piercing dark eyes In murderous black silence sit Perhaps you'll fly with flailing fists Pummeling with all your might Or slowly seek to strangle With abandonment in the night You could seek another A champion for your cause Inflicting the deepest wounds From betrayals poisonous claws However you may choose This is your one final chance My love's embattled heart lies torn So please, let us end this bloody dance |

Thanks one and all for your responses. Sir WOW: Your remarks are a boon. Although I've put words to paper off and on, I've only been serious about it these past six months. Sunshine: I've enjoyed several of your's as well. Thanks for coming by. Balladeer: Your every word is an inspiration. I thank you for taking the time and energy to respond to nearly all my postings. You are one of the best! Rita: Thanks for coming by, credit where credit due. P.S. I love my wife dearly, and she loves me. Our dance is a beauty to behold. |

the tongue can sometimes be the mightiest weapon of them all...enjoyed your poem ------------------ If I had my mouth I would bite. If I had my liberty I would do my liking. In the mean time, let me be that I am, and seek not to alter me. ~~~Shakespeare~~~ |
