The last word has been spoken thunder shakes the house the night flashes furiously and I get scared "just like that night at the boathouse babe..." so I remember... What a night it was you and I hand in hand facing forever only looking ahead. October had been as warm as your heart we were new you drove, and I sang along with Pink Floyd "we're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl..." the air was heavy when we got out of the car you took my hand reluctantly, I followed "it's gonna rain Mat..." you just smiled, took me in your arms and pointed at the sky I gazed the night had never been darker the stars had all died and far away in the distant nearness we could hear a growl "the sky is hungry..." you said I laughed how I wanted to make love to you at that moment but I had never... you heard my heart and you wraped yourself around me and I kissed like I had never kissed before and I touched like I had never felt before and then, the clouds began weaping while the sky raged loud bangs our bodies collided between teardrops and blinks of white. The car radio was still on... between the rolls of thunder Billie Holiday sang "All of me...why not take all of me..." Oh yes... take all of me we were soaked by the smell of rain and sweat in the darkness all I could hear was you... breathing hard as if you were taking breath for the first time I saw ever after that night and still today... you make love to me in thunder storms "Just like that night at the boathouse babe..." |
