In pondering our days of yore
Life's truths we've met at every door.
Each lesson more profound than last
Our souls the sum of all days past.

Thence wisdom may we recognize
To view the world through clearer eyes,
And hope that e'er each 'morrow brings
Us vanquished plight on splendent wings.

Truth of the past and wonders of the future.
Your poem says a lot.

"Our souls the sum of all days past" That is so true, and so beautiful. Nan, I want lessons, too!

This poem reminds me of Longfellow's "Rainy Days," one of my favorite of all favorites. Beautiful, Nan. I can't wait to get you cornered. Gonna bring my thickest notebook.

Nan, I think I look for your stuff just because you always find the correct picture to make your poems contain both forms of art.

Well done, friend.
