In the space between moments

0 posted 1999-07-18 01:57 AM

My hands reach out to touch the elusive tendrils of eternity,
Stretching my horizons to touch fate's brilliantly jewelled fingertips.
For much too long I have waded in somber, tear filled seas,
Catching glimpses of moonlit wishes, but never holding fast to those gifts.

Enchanted, enraptured by a shining star floating within the stillness above,
A sparkling diamond standing out from shards of plain, dulled stone.
Never thinking that somehow me you could so faithfully love,
Never believing you would take my hand and promise I would never be alone.

Many times I have stared into your eyes of crystal blue,
But never until now were they inflamed with such a raging desire.
When you whispered upon the encircling breeze I could scarcely believe it was true,
That within your heart you held the same spellbound fire.

To finally hold a rare dream within my trembling hands,
It was like soaring upon an angel's silken wings of creamy gold.
To feel my soul being lifted from time's drowning sands,
Now being enveloped within the sapphire sky's most tender folds.

My shattered heart was then stitched together from strands of a grand design,
Destined to forever soar among the fluffy clouds of silvery white.
Etched within the midnight was true love for me to find,
And that shining star is forever with me, lighting my somber nights.
