In darkness, I brood about the task at hand for my death will free this noble land the final walk from this lonely tower will signal more than my final hour The bravest that I will ever be is when I face my eternity blood on my hands, guilt on my soul my death will then make me whole The battle lost, I pay for our sins but who’s to say which of us wins my death will make a martyr of me the price I pay to let men live free Fear flutters in my heart at the last with hooded face, my die is cast trembling, crying, awaiting the shroud I hang before the cheering crowd. (Thanks for the challenge, DreamEvil!) |

This is really interesting. Is this metaphoric for your own life right now, or a sympathetic look at the the greatest sacrifice? Lovely imagery, fortified by strong, eloquent wording. |

Anytime, Lady deVine, it was truly a pleasure without compare. ------------------ Being paranoid is the biggest reason I'm still around to practice my paranoia. DreamEvil© |

Severn, I was challenged by DreamEvil to write a poem using the phrase: In darkness I brood. This is the result of that challenge. I put it on paper and let my creativity do the rest. I appreciate your comments! Thanks. |
