Sleep comes not for my heavy heart
I close my eyes, the pain does start
Memories flooding it kept at bay
While I worked the day away

Once again I lost a piece of you
Though you tell me it is untrue
Acting as if I cannot see
The evidence you hide from me

Your glassy eyes when I came in
The smell permeates your skin
The bottle hidden in the car
You take your deceit so far

I’m torn apart, you’ve broken me
I had come to trust your honesty
But that’s a word you do not know
And I’m unsure which way to go

Tonite your eyes full of hate
Words thrown at me to berate
Tomorrow you’ll apologize
And I’ll try to recognize

Who you are through this new black eye

Remembering not what happened tonite

Sleep comes not for my heavy heart
My world again fallen apart
But all I want is forever sleep
