This virgin quill given into your care Awaits the stroke of your delicate hand; To bestow a world we two can share Though I stand on a distant foreign land. Fill it with the sweetness of your every thought, That I may taste your words upon my lips. Speak to it your days, nights, dreams and desires, So that the veil of distance trembles and slips. Paint your world in the words of your heart With every hue of your radiant soul. Draw me closer to your light, though apart With your touch, pen and ink will keep us whole. |

Each letter you send will go straight to my heart And lessen the distance that keeps us apart. I'll read them with pleasure and pray for the day We can both throw our pencils and paper away. Sorry, Andrew. You got me in a romantic mood. Uh, not you, personally, you understand, I mean the poem and...aw, you know what I mean! Nicely written. Sir Balladeer: I'm glad I could strike a cord in a heart such as yours. Doubly so that it wasn't in just such that way. I have a feeling that to many women would be heartsick to hear such news. Thanks for the kudos, and what would be a very good addition to the piece. |
